James Logan is preparing for their first league matchup of the season on Wednesday. They will welcome the Kennedy Titans at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
On Saturday, James Logan didn't have quite enough to beat Pittsburg and fell 3-2. That's two games in a row now that the Colts have lost by just one run.

James Logan saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lester Miranda, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Those two RBI gave Miranda a new career-high. Jordan Medina also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken ten innings to finish the job, but Kennedy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Concord, sneaking past 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Titans have posted since February 20th.
Nick Owsley made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
In other pitching news, Kennedy got a great performance from Jake Arrowood as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 7.2 innings pitched. Arrowood also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Kennedy is 3-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 2-3 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Michael Pickett was excellent, going 1-for-4 with four stolen bases. Another player making a difference was Hunter Padilla, who got on base in three of his six plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
This is the second loss in a row for James Logan and nudges their season record down to 2-6. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Kennedy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
James Logan took their victory against Kennedy when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 16-6. Will James Logan repeat their success, or does Kennedy has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
