Recap: Central vs. Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley]

Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] made easy work of Central on Friday and carried off a 38-13 win. Followers of Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] probably expected little less of the team in a season in which they have collected three blowout victories.

Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley]'s offense rushed out of the gates and came up with 28 first-half points. Meanwhile, Central couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 28-0 heading into the break. Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] were outperformed in the second half 10-13 but had enough points saved up to walk away with the win. The victory was the 4th in a row for them, as they raised their record to 7-1. Central are on a six-game losing streak that has brought their record down to 1-6.

Both teams are staying within the conference for their upcoming matches. Union [Appalachia/Powell Valley] will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Abingdon in two weeks at 7:00 PM. As for Central, they will face off against Lee. Both of those teams have had a rocky road up to this point with six consecutive losses for Central and three for Lee.
