Basketball Recap: Rio Mesa Has No Trouble Against Pacifica

Rio Mesa's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by an 80-54 margin over the Pacifica Tritons. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Pacifica's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Will Jones JR., who posted 20 points and six rebounds. Jones JR. continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayden Britt, who had 13 points and five boards.

Rio Mesa's win bumped their record up to 13-9. As for Pacifica, they have also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing San Marcos the next time they take the court. Pacifica will host San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Rio Mesa will host them at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd.
