Roosevelt put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their undefeated season alive. Their defense stepped up to hand the Northside Mustangs a 2-0 shutout. For Roosevelt, this counts as revenge for the 5-2 victory Northside walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Roosevelt's win bumped their record up to 6-0-1. As for Northside, they moved to 8-2 with that defeat, which also ended their eight-game winning streak.

Roosevelt and Northside should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Rough Riders will take on Goode STEM Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (81 vs. 406). Meanwhile, Northside (ranked 64th) will meet Northtown (ranked 260th) at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
