Basketball Recap: Adrian/Ellsworth Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

There's no place like home for Adrian/Ellsworth, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda Coyotes 47-44. The win was some much needed relief for the Dragons as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Despite the defeat, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Thaddeus Bray went 9 for 11 en route to 19 points and six boards. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for Bray. Cole Schmidt was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Adrian/Ellsworth's victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 4-9. As for Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-11.

When Adrian/Ellsworth and Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Adrian/Ellsworth will face off against Russell-Tyler-Ruthton and their seven-game winning streak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Heron Lake-Okabena/Fulda will try to stop Hills-Beaver Creek's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
