Basketball Recap: Carnegie Takes a Loss

If Carnegie was riding high fresh off their 59-30 takedown of Alex last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Carnegie Wildcats were outmatched by the Binger-Oney Bobcats and fell 84-33. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 337th, while the Bobcats are ranked 71st).

Carnegie lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ken Whittington, who posted 11 points and six rebounds. Jerin Thompson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Carnegie's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Binger-Oney, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Carnegie has already played their next contest, a 55-54 victory against Epic Charter on the 7th. As for Binger-Oney, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-52 defeat against Calumet on the 7th.
