Basketball Game Preview: Steele Knights vs. Johnson Jaguars

Two dominant guards in Maurice Eddie and Daryl Banks are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Steele Knights will challenge the Johnson Jaguars at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Steele's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 32 contests.

Steele is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 63-52 victory over Harlingen. Given the Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Cardinals are ranked 195th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Johnson waltzed into their matchup on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 52-47 W against the Warriors.

Johnson's win bumped their record up to 28-9. As for Steele, their victory bumped their record up to 31-5.

Steele didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Johnson when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 50-44 win. Will Steele repeat their success, or does Johnson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
