Basketball Recap: Mountain Crest Mustangs vs. Ridgeline Riverhawks

The Mountain Crest Mustangs pushed their score all the way to 59 on Wednesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Ridgeline 63-59. If Mountain Crest was looking for revenge after losing 63-42 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Mountain Crest lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Josh Arnell, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Arnell has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaden Hess, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds.

Ridgeline's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Carson Cox led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Cam Blotter was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Mountain Crest's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-5. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Ridgeline, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
