Basketball Recap: Grayville Comes Up Short

Grayville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They took a 76-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patoka Warriors. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (64), the Bison still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Grayville still got an impressive performance from Zach Leavens, who posted 34 points. That was a full 51.5% of Grayville's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Ian Kleinschmidt, who scored 11 points.

Grayville's loss dropped their record down to 11-14. As for Patoka, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-12.

Grayville has already played their next contest, an 85-56 win against Martinsville on the 4th. As for Patoka, they will head out on the road to take on Sandoval at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sandoval will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Patoka surely won't give up without a fight.
