Football Recap: Elkhart Lions vs. Concord Minutemen

Elkhart unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They took a 35-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Concord Minutemen on Friday. Despite 90 more yards than the Minutemen, the Lions couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Elkhart still got an impressive performance from Micah Jarrell, who rushed for 114 yards and one score on only 12 carries, and also threw for 233 yards and one touchdown while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt. Another big playmaker for the Lions was Frankie Willis, who returned a punt for a touchdown.

Special teams also played a big role in the game for Elkhart, adding 11 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Willis, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
