Basketball Recap: Dodson Comes Up Short

Dodson played a tough game on Saturday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They took a blow against the Box Elder Bears, falling 79-46. While losing is never fun, the Coyotes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Montana basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Bears are ranked 26th).

Dodson lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jakobe Heminger, who posted 14 points. Frank 'Sonny' Cole was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Dodson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Box Elder, they pushed their record up to 8-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, Dodson will look to defend their home court on Friday against Turner at 5:00 p.m. As for Box Elder, they will venture away from home to challenge Belt at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
