The Calhoun Warriors will square off against the Carrollton Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Calhoun 1.5, Carrollton 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Calhoun is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Edwardsville just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 4-2. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Calhoun saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lacy Pohlman, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base. Pohlman has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.
Meanwhile, Carrollton strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over Quincy Notre Dame. Those four runs were actually the fewest the Hawks have put up all season, but given the result they're probably not too concerned.
Lauren Flowers spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Daci Walls, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Hannah Uhles was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Carrollton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in 17 consecutive matches.
Carrollton's win was their 26th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Calhoun, their loss dropped their record down to 12-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Calhoun has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Carrollton struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.8 strikeouts.
