Basketball Recap: Battle Creek Takes a Loss

Battle Creek lost against Norfolk Catholic back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Battle Creek Braves were dealt a 76-44 defeat at the hands of the Norfolk Catholic Knights. The Braves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Max Hammond continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Norfolk Catholic, going 7 for 11 to rack up 16 points in addition to five boards and three steals. Thanks to that strong game, Hammond now owns an excellent 45.7% field goal percentage. Another player making a difference was Leighton Burbach, who posted eight points.

Battle Creek now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Norfolk Catholic, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Battle Creek will challenge Cedar Catholic at 7:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Norfolk Catholic, they have already played their next contest, a 62-47 win against Guardian Angels Central Catholic on the 8th.
