Softball Game Preview: Pamlico County Hurricanes vs. Southside Seahawks

For the second straight game, Pamlico County will face off against Southside. The Hurricanes will head out on the road to face off against the Seahawks at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Pamlico County will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Pamlico County made easy work of Southside and carried off a 13-1 victory. Considering the Hurricanes have won five matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pamlico County got a massive performance out of Peyton Robinson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four stolen bases gave Robinson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Shamblin, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Robinson wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Pamlico County kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in eight consecutive games.

Pamlico County's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Southside, they now have a losing record of 5-6-1.
