Franklin entered their tilt with Independence on Thursday with seven consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with eight. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Eagles. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-2 on September 9th.

Franklin took Independence into a fifth set where they got it done with a two-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-21, 19-25, 21-25, 16-14.

Ellyson Fogle paced Franklin's offense, picking up 20 kills. Fogle got some help from Emerson Garner and her 34 assists. Garner was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Franklin's record is now 19-7. As for Independence, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-11 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Franklin will venture away from home to challenge Summit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Independence, they will head out to face off against Oakland at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
