After losing to Bellefontaine the last time they met, Urbana decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Hillclimbers skirted past the Chieftains 5-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Hillclimbers as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on Grady Lantz, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Shane Hoffman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Urbana hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Urbana's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Bellefontaine, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Urbana will square off against Graham Local at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Hillclimbers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Bellefontaine, they are taking a road trip to square off against Indian Lake at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
