Soccer Game Preview: Sunnyside vs. Casteel

The Sunnyside Blue Devils will be taking part in a tournament against the Casteel Colts at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. Sunnyside is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.9 goals per game this season.

Sunnyside is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arizona's top teams: Mica Mountain, who was ranked 22nd at the time (Sunnyside was ranked third). Sunnyside never let Mica Mountain onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday. Aaron Abarca had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Blue Devils.

Meanwhile, Casteel beat Boulder Creek 2-0 last Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Colts.

The win was the third in a row for Sunnyside, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 15 goals over those three contests. As for Casteel, they now have a winning record of 2-1-2.

Sunnyside beat Casteel by a goal in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 2-1. Does Sunnyside have another victory up their sleeve, or will Casteel turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
