Basketball Recap: Drew Irwin Key Part of a Team Effort in Sentinels Win

Evangelical Christian won against IMG Academy Silver last Friday with 72 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Tuesday. The Evangelical Christian Sentinels came out on top against the Out-of-Door Academy Thunder by a score of 72-60. That's more bragging rights for the Sentinels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evangelical Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Drew Irwin, who shot 4-for-7 from deep and dropped a double-double on 28 points and 12 boards. The contest was Irwin's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Quez Outten was another key player, going 8 for 12 on his way to 19 points in addition to six assists and six boards.

Evangelical Christian is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for Out-of-Door Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Evangelical Christian will host The Village School of Naples at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Out-of-Door Academy, they will take on Harvest Community in a tournament on Friday.
