The Althoff Catholic Crusaders will head out on the road to face off against the Father McGivney Catholic Griffins at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Althoff Catholic comes in on seven and Father McGivney Catholic on five.
Althoff Catholic's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. Everything went their way against Westminster Christian as Althoff Catholic made off with a 10-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won five contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Alec Underwood looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Bo Gomric, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Mateo Albers also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Althoff Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westminster Christian only posted an OBP of .364.
Meanwhile, Father McGivney Catholic made easy work of St. Teresa on Saturday and carried off a 13-1 victory. The Griffins are also no stranger to big wins: their blowout was the fifth matchup they've won by 6+ runs this season.
Father McGivney Catholic got a massive performance out of Omar Avalos, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Justin Terhaar, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.
Father McGivney Catholic's win was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Althoff Catholic, their record now sits at 9-1.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Althoff Catholic has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .486. However, it's not like Father McGivney Catholic struggles in that department as they've averaged .489. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Althoff Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Father McGivney Catholic in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 5-3.
