Softball Recap: Goliad Finds Playoff Glory Versus Yoakum

Goliad had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They skirted past the Yoakum Bulldogs 8-6. This was a revenge game for the Tigers: when they faced off against the Bulldogs on Saturday, they had to take a 7-0 defeat.

Goliad has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Yoakum, their loss dropped their record down to 18-9-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Bulldogs beat Goliad by a score of 7-0 later that day.
