Basketball Recap: Houston Adventist Academy Falls Short of Brazosport Christian in the Playoffs

Houston Adventist Academy and Brazosport Christian squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Houston Adventist Academy had to settle for second. They took a 70-65 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Brazosport Christian Eagles. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Thursday (56), Houston Adventist Academy still had to take the loss.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brazosport Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mason Speed, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds. What's more, Speed also posted two assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024. James Moore was another key player, going 5-for-7 on his way to 11 points along with seven boards and four steals.

Houston Adventist Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 16-7. As for Brazosport Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Houston Adventist Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brazosport Christian, they will head out to take on Valor Preparatory Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Valor Preparatory Academy sitting on 15 straight victories and Brazosport Christian on three.
