Preview: North Forney Falcons vs. Rockwall Yellowjackets
The North Forney Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Rockwall Yellowjackets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. North Forney is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
Two Fridays ago, North Forney earned a 33-26 win over Royse City. Given North Forney's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 69th, while Royse City is ranked 227th), the result wasn't exactly an upset.
North Forney's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jaquarian Robinson, who picked up 126 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Robinson's longest reception was for an incredible 75 yards. Kellen Sanders also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, even though Royse City scored an imposing 37 points on Friday, Rockwall still came out on top. Everything went Rockwall's way against Royse City as Rockwall made off with a 63-37 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Rockwall just coasted through the last quarter.
Rockwall haved a senior duo take command as Ashten Emory rushed for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries and Mason Marshall threw for 205 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes. Emory is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamir Wilson, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
North Forney's win was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 42.0 points per game. Rockwall has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first seven matches, giving them a 6-1 record.
North Forney was dealt a bruising 63-14 loss at the hands of Rockwall in their previous meeting back in October of 2022. Can North Forney avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
