Softball Recap: Huntingtown's Undefeated Season over After Seven Games

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last six matches, Huntingtown finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They fell just short of the St. Mary's Ryken Knights by a score of 2-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Hurricanes were not able to get on the board.

Jordyn Greever spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

Having lost for the first time this season, Huntingtown fell to 6-1. As for St. Mary's Ryken, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3.

Huntingtown wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Leonardtown on the 9th. As for St. Mary's Ryken, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Paul VI on the 8th.
