Baseball Game Preview: East Jackson Trojans vs. Leslie Blackhawks

East Jackson is 1-7 against Leslie since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Trojans will be playing at home against the Blackhawks at 4:00 p.m. East Jackson has given up an average of 7.6 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

East Jackson is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Monday. They lost 14-2 to Homer.

Chris Holloway made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-2. Those hits were his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Leslie's offense. They fell just short of Hanover-Horton by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Blackhawks were not able to get on the board.

This is the second loss in a row for Leslie and nudges their season record down to 1-5. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for East Jackson, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

East Jackson suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Leslie when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
