Baseball Game Preview: Yuma Criminals vs. Dysart Demons

For the second straight game, Yuma will face off against Dysart. The Criminals will face off against the Demons at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Yuma knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Dysart likes a good challenge.

On Tuesday, Yuma made easy work of Dysart and carried off a 10-4 win. The victory continues a trend for the Criminals in their matchups with the Demons: they've now won seven in a row.

Noah Jensen looked comfortable as he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.

At the plate, Yuma let Jaxson Gastelum and Jack Bouts run wild. Gastelum went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Bouts went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave Gastelum a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Thomas Grijalva, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI and one run.

Yuma hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive contests.

Yuma's win bumped their record up to 9-7-2. As for Dysart, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Yuma hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .315. However, it's not like Dysart struggles in that department as they've averaged .319. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
