Baseball Game Preview: Clear Creek Golddiggers vs. Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes

The Clear Creek Golddiggers will venture away from home to challenge the Bishop Machebeuf Buffaloes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Clear Creek is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.

Clear Creek took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Saturday. They walked away with a 12-7 win over Ellicott.

Zephyr Schuessler made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Blake Weichel was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Clear Creek: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-7 otherwise. Caden McKown was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Clear Creek kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Bishop Machebeuf had just enough and edged out Estes Park 4-2 on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Miles Edgar, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Clear Creek's record now sits at 6-7. As for Bishop Machebeuf, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Clear Creek suffered a grim 10-3 defeat to Bishop Machebeuf in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Golddiggers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
