Basketball Game Preview: Meyersdale Red Raiders vs. Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers

Meyersdale hasn't had much luck against Berlin Brothersvalley recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Meyersdale Red Raiders will take on the Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers at 7:15 p.m.

On Monday, Meyersdale was beaten by Blacklick Valley 59-30. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Berlin Brothersvalley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Windber on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 59-53 victory.

Berlin Brothersvalley's win came from a few key players Meyersdale will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Matthew Miller, who went 6 of 9 to rack up 17 points and eight boards. What's more, he also posted a 80% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in March of 2024. Carson Janidlo was another key player, dropping a double-double with 11 points and 15 rebounds.

Berlin Brothersvalley has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Meyersdale, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-16.

Meyersdale was taken down by Berlin Brothersvalley 60-28 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Meyersdale was down 40-13.
