Recap: Imagine School at North Port Sharks vs. Venice Indians
After flying high against the DeSoto County Bulldogs last Thursday, the Imagine School at North Port Sharks came back down to earth. Imagine School at North Port ended up on the wrong side of a tough 72-47 walloping at the hands of Venice on Friday. Imagine School at North Port has struggled against Venice recently, as their matchup on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Imagine School at North Port saw an underclassman step up: Wesley Woods scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Peyton Rassbach, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Venice to victory, but perhaps none more so than Deylen Platt, who scored 19 points. The contest was Platt's third in a row with at least ten points. Griffin Moricz was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Imagine School at North Port's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Venice, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.
Imagine School at North Port will head out on the road to face off against Lemon Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Lemon Bay focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday. Venice's road trip will continue as they head out to face Sports Leadership & Management at 4:00 p.m. on December 23, 2023. Sports Leadership & Management is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 67.2 points per game.
