Baseball Recap: Serrano Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Serrano's offense. They lost 9-0 to the Sultana Sultans on Thursday. The Diamondbacks have struggled against the Sultans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meetings.

Jack Trujillo was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and six unearned) runs off four hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

Serrano's defeat dropped their record down to 2-7. As for Sultana, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-2-1 record this season.

Serrano will be playing at home against Burroughs at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sultana, they will head out on the road to square off against Hesperia at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
