Preview: Melba Mustangs vs. Parma Panthers
Melba is 8-2 against Parma since November of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Melba Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Parma Panthers at 7:30 a.m. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Melba scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They walked away with a 73-60 victory over Nyssa. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Meanwhile, Parma came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against McCall-Donnelly by a score of 52-43. The score was all tied up 23-23 at the break, but Parma was the better team in the second half.
The win (which was Melba's third in a row) raised their record to 7-4. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Parma, their win bumped their record up to 6-2.
Melba beat Parma 52-43 when the teams last played back in November. The rematch might be a little tougher for Melba since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
