Softball Game Preview: Parowan Rams vs. South Sevier Rams

Parowan is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will head out on the road to challenge South Sevier at 3:30 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Parowan has struggled recently with eight defeats in a row, while South Sevier will arrive with five straight wins.

Parowan's tournament run continued when they took on Box Elder on Saturday. Parowan lost 23-3 to Box Elder.

Meanwhile, South Sevier had just enough and edged out Snow Canyon 5-4 on Saturday.

The team relied heavily on Kinley Phelps, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Kate Peterson also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

South Sevier hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most five strikeouts in five consecutive games.

South Sevier pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Parowan, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
