4A Region II District 13 recap November 5, 2013

McKinney North scaled the state rankings by moving to 329 from 400 this week, the biggest jump in 4A Region II District 13. The Bulldogs were able to move up by beating Wylie East 42-39.

McKinney North and the Raiders played the most contested game in the league this week, with McKinney North eventually emerging with a 42-39 victory. Ronald Jones ran for 237 yards in the win.

Jones provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mike Fecci's team bested Wylie East. Jones' favorite target this week was Tre Sanders, who caught 5 passes for 146 yards.

Jones was a force in the backfield as the Bulldogs bested Joe Lepsis' team.

Jones was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 25 carries, he ran for 237 yards as McKinney North bested the Raiders. Ben Dutze also contributed to the rushing game with 41 yards on the ground.

6-foot-0 quarterback Garrett McCain of Wylie East is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,594. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Justice Luce. The Lovejoy star has 50 catches for 1,149 yards.

Two of the top units in 4A Region II District 13 will face off this week when Lovejoy takes on the Raiders. The Leopards' offense has recorded 385 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Wylie East has permitted only 231 on the year.

At the moment, the Raiders are in third, while Lovejoy is in first.
