Basketball Recap: Mason Crable's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Santa Fe over Sterling

Santa Fe lost against Sterling back in November and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Santa Fe Indians fell to the Sterling Rangers 53-47. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Santa Fe's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mason Crable, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. With that strong performance, Crable is now averaging an impressive 2 blocks per game. Another player making a difference was Kaidan Mata, who posted eight points in addition to five assists and three steals.

Santa Fe's defeat dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Sterling, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

Santa Fe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 77-51 win against Milby on the 28th. As for Sterling, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-62 victory against Channelview on the 28th.
