Basketball Game Preview: Sierra Grande Panthers vs. Lake City Community 14ers

The Sierra Grande Panthers are taking a road trip to challenge the Lake City Community 14ers at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lake City Community took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Sierra Grande, who comes in off a win.

Sierra Grande is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They really took it to Antonito for the full four quarters, racking up an 87-8 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their 13-point performance the game before.

Ahlea Garcia was nothing short of spectacular: she dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in steals. Jaylyn Quezada was another key player, going 8 for 16 on her way to 17 points in addition to six boards and six steals.

Sierra Grande was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Lake City Community took a blow against Sangre de Cristo on Friday, falling 67-16.

Sierra Grande's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Lake City Community, they now have a losing record at 0-1.
