Baseball Game Preview: Tahquitz Titans vs. La Sierra Eagles

The Tahquitz Titans are taking a road trip to take on the La Sierra Eagles at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tahquitz will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Tahquitz had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Canyon Springs on Tuesday. Tahquitz put the hurt on Canyon Springs with a sharp 8-1 win.

Meanwhile, La Sierra can bid farewell to their 13-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past Redlands 6-5. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Mason White looked comfortable as he pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. That's the fewest hits he has allowed since back in February of 2024.

At the plate, Jose Pena was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in hits (three). Cristian Velazquez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

La Sierra's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Tahquitz, their record is now 3-0.

Tahquitz might still be hurting after the 16-3 defeat they got from La Sierra when the teams last played back in April of 2021. Can Tahquitz avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
