Ida Baker never got on the board in their matchup last Wednesday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Cape Coral on Friday. They put the hurt on the Cape Coral Seahawks with a sharp 12-2 victory. With that win, the Bulldogs brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Brody Root made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Root was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Ida Baker let Austin Field and Abdiel Ortiz run wild.
