Recap: Louisiana Bulldogs vs. Highland Cougars
If the Louisiana Bulldogs were riding high off their 67-47 takedown of the Pleasant Hill Wolves last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Louisiana took a 63-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Highland on Tuesday. Louisiana was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Highland apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
When it comes to explaining why Louisiana lost, one person who can't be blamed is Wyatt Martin. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 25 points and 14 rebounds. Martin scored a full 47.2% of Louisiana's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Quincy Mooney, who scored 6 points.
Louisiana's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Highland, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Louisiana will take on Van-Far at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Van-Far focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Monday. As for Highland, they will be playing at home against Liberty at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Liberty is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
