Softball Recap: Goshen Central Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Goshen Central had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt Wallkill on Thursday. The Gladiators put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 8-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Gladiators in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won six in a row.

The result came thanks to Addison Freiberger's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Anna Mayo, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilah Snyder, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Goshen Central's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Wallkill, they moved to 15-3 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Goshen Central nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
