Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Parkersburg South couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Morgantown Mohigans by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The Patriots' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Anniston Shelton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in eight consecutive appearances.
