Volleyball Recap: Oxnard Takes a Loss

Oxnard lost against Canyon back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Oxnard lost 3-0 to Canyon.

Oxnard was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Canyon work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 26-24, 25-22, 25-16.

Caiden Aguilar paced Oxnard's offense, picking up nine kills. Aguilar got some help from JP Mawas and his 12 assists. Jacob Liporada controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Oxnard has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. The win (which was Canyon's fourth in a row) raised their record to 15-4.

Looking ahead, Oxnard will take on Nordhoff at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Canyon, they will challenge Hart at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Canyon is facing Hart at the right time seeing as Hart is stuck on an 11-game losing streak.
