Basketball Recap: Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Comes Up Short

After flying high against Mountain Lake/Comfrey last Tuesday, Russell-Tyler-Ruthton came back down to earth. The Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Knights were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 49-48 to the Westbrook-Walnut Grove Chargers. The defeat continues a trend for the Knights in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now lost four in a row.

Russell-Tyler-Ruthton's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Westbrook-Walnut Grove, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-5.

Russell-Tyler-Ruthton will welcome St. Mary's at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. St. Mary's will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Russell-Tyler-Ruthton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Westbrook-Walnut Grove, they will venture away from home to face off against Red Rock Central at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The timing isn't great for Red Rock Central: they have been struggling with ten straight losses at home, while Westbrook-Walnut Grove has snatched up seven consecutive wins on the road.
