Basketball Recap: Concordia Takes a Loss

Concordia played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 65-36 loss at the hands of the Blair Bears. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Bears: they've now lost seven in a row.

Concordia's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Grace Samuelson, who posted six points and 11 rebounds. Samuelson has become a key player for Concordia: the team is 4-2 when she posts at least ten boards, but 5-11 otherwise.

Blair was led to victory by Cadence Field and Kate Wulf. Field put up 18 points, while Wulf had 17 points. The dominant performance gave Field a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Wendt, who earned ten points.

Concordia's loss dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Blair, their record is now 12-9.

Concordia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-38 victory against Auburn on the 18th. As for Blair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-39 win against Roncalli Catholic on the 15th.
