Softball Recap: Newton-Conover Comes Up Short

Newton-Conover was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Bunker Hill Bears, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Red Devils of the 5-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Newton-Conover saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacie Pruitt, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3.

Newton-Conover's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Bunker Hill, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3.

Newton-Conover has already played their next matchup, a 17-2 defeat against West Caldwell on the 25th. As for Bunker Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 9-4 win against Lincolnton on the 25th.
