Dora has gone 9-1 against Floyd recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Coyotes will be playing at home against the Broncos at 4:00 p.m. Floyd took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Dora, who comes in off a win.
Having struggled with eight losses in a row, Dora turned things around against Melrose on Monday. They came out on top against the Buffaloes by a score of 9-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last seven times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Timmy Neal made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with four RBI and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Rylan Harris was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Dora: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 0-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Davis, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, Floyd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 18th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against Elida, falling 28-7.
Floyd saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daxton Kuchta, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. That triple was Kuchta's first of the season. Adan Nieto was another, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Floyd's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Dora, their win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 2-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dora has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Floyd struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Dora's way against Floyd when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Dora made off with an 18-8 victory. Will the Coyotes repeat their success, or do the Broncos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
