Basketball Recap: San Juan Takes a Loss

After flying high against Monticello on Thursday, San Juan came back down to earth. The San Juan Broncos were outmatched by the North Summit Braves and fell 78-25. The loss continues a trend for the Broncos in their matchups with the Braves: they've now lost five in a row.

Ellie Stephens continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Summit, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 23 boards. Stephens is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Hartlynn Richins, who went 7 of 10 en route to 14 points along with seven assists and five boards.

San Juan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for North Summit, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

San Juan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 67-17 loss against Duchesne on the 11th. As for North Summit, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 68-36 victory against Grand County on the 11th.
