Basketball Recap: Fairland Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Fairland and Portsmouth squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Fairland had to settle for second. They lost 63-40 to the Portsmouth Trojans. The Dragons haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Addyson Cornell, who posted ten points. Thanks to that strong game, Cornell now owns an excellent 45.2% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Godby, who earned five points along with ten boards and six assists.

Fairland's loss dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Portsmouth, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 26-1.

Fairland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Portsmouth, they will challenge Norwayne at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. Norwayne will roll in looking for their 20th straight win, something Portsmouth surely won't give up without a fight.
