Basketball Game Preview: Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers vs. Live Oak Eagles

The Woodlawn-B.R. Panthers will face off against the Live Oak Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Woodlawn-B.R. is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 62.4 points per game this season.

On Saturday, Woodlawn-B.R. needed a bit of extra time to put away St. Helena College and Career Academy. They escaped with a win against the Hawks by the margin of a single free throw, 51-50. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Woodlawn-B.R.'s success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kaleb Brandon led the charge by putting up 11 points and eight assists. Kelinee Stone was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds.

Woodlawn-B.R. smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Live Oak came up short against Ascension Catholic last Thursday and fell 73-65. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Woodlawn-B.R. has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season. As for Live Oak, they now have a losing record at 10-11.

Woodlawn-B.R. couldn't quite finish off Live Oak in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 and fell 65-63. Can Woodlawn-B.R. avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
