Football Recap: Mead Comes Up Short

Mead and Pender squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Mead had to settle for second. They were outmatched by the Pendragons and fell 47-6. The game marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Mason Reed threw for 120 yards and one TD. Wyatt Engel was his top target, picking up 55 receiving yards.

Trevor Trimble was his usual excellent self, rushing for 92 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Pender. Another player making a difference was Zander Welsh, who threw for 133 yards and three TDs on only ten passes.

Mead now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Pender, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Mead does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pender, they will head out to challenge Lourdes Central Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
