Basketball Game Preview: Woodside Wildcats vs. Jefferson Grizzlies

The Woodside Wildcats will face off against the Jefferson Grizzlies at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Woodside and four for Jefferson.

Last Wednesday, Woodside lost to Carlmont on the road by a 54-37 margin. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 576th, while the Scots are ranked 217th).

Meanwhile, Jefferson ended up a good deal behind Half Moon Bay on Wednesday and lost 71-53.

Jefferson's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Woodside, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Woodside barely slipped by Jefferson in their previous matchup back in November of 2023, winning 49-48. Will Woodside repeat their success, or does Jefferson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
