Baseball Recap: Blackstone Valley Prep Sets Scoring Season-High Against Times Squared Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Blackstone Valley Prep). They blew past the Times Squared Academy Eagles 21-2 on Tuesday. The PRIDE haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Alex Torres made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other pitching news, Noah Ferreira looked comfortable as he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Blackstone Valley Prep is undefeated when Ferreira posts two or more runs, but 4-8 otherwise.

Back at the plate, Sidney Lockhart was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Will Collins also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Blackstone Valley Prep kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.6 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.

Blackstone Valley Prep's record is now 11-8. As for Times Squared Academy, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-18.

As of now, neither Blackstone Valley Prep nor the Eagles have any future games scheduled.
